Privacy Policy
Summary
PawCam is a camera app for pets. Your photos, camera frames, pet profiles, and recorded sounds stay on your device and there is no account. Best-shot analysis happens entirely on your phone (Apple Vision on iPhone, on-device models bundled in the app on Android). The only exception is AI art: when you tap “Make AI art” and agree, the one photo you picked is sent to create the artwork (see below).

What we never collect
Passwords, payment card numbers, precise location, contacts, or audio recordings. We do not collect what you type or the content of your photos, except the one photo you send for AI art and, on iPhone, on-screen text visible in a session replay as described above. We do not use IDFA or the Android advertising ID, do not collect the Android ID, and do not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt. The ads inside PawCam are served non-personalized (npa=1). To measure our own ads on Facebook and Instagram, AppsFlyer shares install and purchase events with Meta as described above; Meta may combine this with information it holds about you under Meta’s own privacy policy.
On-device photos
On iPhone, PawCam analyzes burst frames with Apple’s Vision framework; on Android, with on-device models bundled in the app. No frame leaves the device for analysis, ranking, or storage.
AI art
AI art is optional. Before the first use, the app asks for your agreement. When you tap “Make AI art”, only the photo you chose is sent through our server on Cloudflare Workers to OpenAI to generate the artwork, which is returned to your device. Our server does not store or log the photo or the artwork; it keeps only a usage counter tied to your random app user ID. OpenAI processes the photo under its API data usage policy. If you never use AI art, no photo leaves your device.
Legal bases
For users in the EEA/UK: processing is based on contract (app functionality, purchases), legitimate interest (crash reporting, product analytics, and measuring our own advertising), and consent where required for ads (UMP). You can refuse personalized ads; PawCam’s ads are non-personalized regardless.
Retention
On-device photos, profiles, and recordings are deleted when you delete them or uninstall the app. Analytics, crash, and attribution data follow each provider’s retention (PostHog, Sentry, AppsFlyer, Meta). AI art credit usage counters are kept while you use AI art, so your purchased credits stay correct; photos sent for AI art are not stored by us and follow OpenAI’s API retention. Purchase records follow Apple, Google Play and RevenueCat. Your random app user ID stays in your iCloud Keychain or Google Block Store until you remove it there. If you turn on Android device backup, Google may include PawCam’s on-device data (photos, profiles, recordings, settings) in your own Google backup under Google’s terms; we cannot read that backup. Likewise, an iCloud backup of your iPhone can include PawCam’s on-device data.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. JoCoding, Inc. is a US company. Where required, transfers rely on the providers’ safeguard mechanisms (e.g., standard contractual clauses).
Your rights
Depending on your region (including the EEA/UK and California), you may request access, deletion, correction, or objection to processing. Email mu07010@jocoding.net. To limit how Meta uses information from apps for ads, use the ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings. You can delete on-device data by removing it in the app or uninstalling. Manage or cancel subscriptions in iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or on Android in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. On Android you can stop product analytics (PostHog) in Settings → Product analytics; ad measurement through AppsFlyer and Meta continues, and you can limit it through Meta’s ad preferences above.
Children
PawCam is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Third-party providers
Apple (In-App Purchase), Google Play (Billing, Block Store), RevenueCat, PostHog, Sentry, AppsFlyer, Meta Platforms (ad measurement), Google AdMob/UMP, Cloudflare (AI art server), OpenAI (AI art generation) — each processes data under its own privacy policy.
